OVERVIEW
Prasuti Tantra Evum Stri Roga is a significant branch of Ayurveda deals with the child birth/ parturition and gynecological disorders. This clinical department deals with diagnosis, investigations, labour care with all gynecological disease in the field of obstetrics and gynecological both Ayurveda and modern aspects. The teaching and training about the disorders of the female body of all ages is being imparted by this department. The department have well equipped museum with all gynecological surgical specimens, female dummy, models, teaching materials, CD’s, gynecological charts and slides. The department has its own library and department has a computer, printer, digital camera, LCD projector etc. All essential practical are carried out in this department. Tutorial room is fully reached with teaching learning facilities.
The main objective of this department is to promote garbhini paricharya through quality teaching learning and clinical training through Ayurveda. Another main objective of this department is implement standard operative procedures for various therapeutic procedures related to Prasuti Tantra Evum Stri Roga.

AREAS OF STUDY
Part first i.e. Prasuti Tantra deals comprehensively study of stri sharir vigyana, rajo vigyana, garbha vigyana, garbhini vigyana, garbhini vyapad, prasava vigyana, prasava vyapad, sutika vigyana. Part second deals with artava vyapad, yoni vyapad, vandhyatwa, stana roga, shastra karma. In the first practical session, students learn and practice of the following obstetric skills to perform independently- 1. History taking and examination of antenatal and gynecological 2. Diagnosis of pregnancy, assessing of gestational period, to diagnose onset of labour 3. To monitor labour progress, able to plot partogram 4. Observation of ten labour 5. To diagnose abnormalities of labour and decide about the referral of the patient 6. Able to provide first aid for obstetric emergencies 7. Recognition of post partum complications 8. Counseling and promoting of breast feeding 9. Record five antenatal cases, five intrapatum, five post partum cases. To observe/assist-D&C, D&E, caesarean section, repair operations, resuscitation of new born.
In the second practical session, students learn and practice of the following gynecological skills to perform independently 1.History taking and examination of gynecological cases 2.Recording ten gynecological cases, 5 gynecological procedures 3.Taking vaginal smear and high vaginal swab 4. Practical knowledge of sthanika chikitsa 5.Observation and practical knowledge of minor gynecological procedures 6.Observation of surgical procedures 7. Identification, uses, demonstration of surgical instruments 8. Observation of method of sterilization, MTP, surgical procedures, hysterectomy, oopherctomy.
